Brazil native, with a hunger for knowledge and a passion for the beauty we are surronded “I would rather die of passion than of boredom.” – Vincent van Gogh.
The world of arts has changed the meaning of my existence 4 years ago. After travelling extensively in the business world, by the force of nature I have found my passion for the arts in my first experience living in Europe.
My artistic journey encompasses a diverse range of mediums, allowing me to express my creative vision through various avenues. As a furniture design finisher specialist, ceramics designer, colour specialist, glass fuser and consultant for interior design companies, I have cultivated a unique artistic approach that blends classical lines with a contemporary mindset, infused with depth and significance.

Hand thrown Crystalline ceramics by Patricia De Mor

After falling in love with a crystalline piece in Thomastown pottery school, located in Co. Kilkenny, Ireland, I spent more than a year focused on the research and development of my crystalline glazes.

Crystalline glazes are speciality glazes that show visible and distinct crystal growth in the matrix of the fired glaze. These natural phenomena are a nuclear reaction from zinc, titanium or lithium, and when combined with heat inside the kiln, atmosphere crystals blossom on the surface.

What fascinates me most is the idea of working with chemical components on the glazes that have their origin in the cosmos, such as supernovas, where you can find titanium and cobalt oxides for example. I believe that you will find my pieces to be a soulful and sincere art experience that ties you to a greater meaning; the creation of life itself. I want the observer to become lost in the crystal and for each person to discover something new every time they view my work.

Each piece is hand formed on the wheel, decorated, and embraces the beauty in imperfection. Every creation is unique and embodies its own personality.
